Guided tour of Claude Monet's gardens & home:
Monet lived in Giverny, Normandy half of his life, where he started renting and finally purchased the big house he needed for his large family. Left by his son Michel to the Académie des Arts in 1966, Monet's estate will reopen in 1980, after extensive renovations. During this full-day tour, you will visit the Monet's property (home and garden) and the Impressionists Museum of with an expert guide. Share the privacy of the painter by discovering the place he lived in. You will certainly understand more some of his paintings after this tour. You will be impressed to enter and visit these typical places where bright colors and astonishing patterns mix in a full-sized painting. Our Giverny guided tour includes a visit of the Clos Normand flower garden: each season brings its variety of blooming flowers and trees, you will enjoy a festival of colors: its yellow irises, forget-me-nots, tulips, nasturtiums, lis, peonies, roses and... so much more!

This musée des impressionnismes special exhibition in Giverny traces the history of plein-air painting, from the 18th century to 1873, the year before the term “Impressionism” was invented. From travelling artists to the Barbican School and the first Impressionists, the exhibition Plein air. From Corot to Monet will present around 80 works by such artists as Joseph Mallord William Turner, Camille Corot, Eugène Boudin or Claude Monet. We usually pick you up at 9:00am from your accommodation in Paris in the morning All our tour guides are fully licensed and allowed to comment in the gardens. They are not allowed to speak inside Monet's house, therefore all the explanations regarding the house will be given to you before you enter the house. The drive between Paris and Giverny is approximately one hour. As a reminder we only give private Giverny tours (we do not give any group tours, shared with other clients).
This tour is available from April 1st on up to November 1st. Monet's property is closed during the winter.
