A private champagne tour from Paris is a luxurious and enjoyable way to experience one of France's most famous and iconic exports.
France is well-known for its architecture, arts, but also for its cheeses, its many vineyards and its tasty sparkling wine : Champagne.
You have the choice to visit either one of the most important Champagne houses such as Veuve Clicquot, Ruinart, Moet & Chandon or another big producer of your choice followed by with one of two visits/tastings at a smaller Champagne grower during the day (lunch is not included), or to visit only smaller Champagne producers (depending on their availability)
During your visits in the Champagne region, you will learn all the secrets of Champagne's process (pinot noir, pinot meunier, chardonnay grapes) and production (harvesting, alcoholic fermentation, dosage, riddling...).
You'll also be capable of distinguishing differences between brut, extra brut, brut nature and sec Champagne bottles. Last but not least, you'll taste great bottles from great houses or/and small producers that you won't be able to find in your country.
Two hours drive will be necessary to take you to your destination. Your driver guide will give you brief explanations of your day program. Once you'll arrive, your tour in the best Champagne houses and cellars will start.
Example of Champagne tastings:
2 small Champagne producer wineries including 3 Champagne glasses/visit/person
Private tours & tastings
(6 glasses total) or
1 shared tour (big house : Veuve Clicquot, Ruinart, Moet & Chandon, Taittinger, Pommery or Mumm depending on their availability. Please note that Veuve Clicquot & Ruinart are closed Sundays & Mondays. )
+ 1 small Champagne grower (private tour) including 2 Champagne glasses/visit/person
(4 or 5 glasses total)
Tasting fees not included (can be paid by credit card on the day of the tour)
Famous Champagne houses like Krug, Louis Roederer & Perrier Jouët do not offer guided visits to the public.
Dom Perignon tour: please note that Moet & Chandon no longer offer private Dom Perignon tours since 2023 unfortunately.
The tours inside the big houses are shared tours and the ones at the smaller growers are private tours. Although we honestly feel that paying for a private tours of the cellars at the big Champagne producers is costly and not worth it, if you really wish to book a private tour there please ask us for a quote.
